Even though everyone is practicing social distancing it does not mean your property search or home sale needs to completely halt. There are still plenty of things you can do to keep it moving and loads of properties still on the market to view online.

If your home is already on the market, there is no reason to withdraw it. Due to present times and being stuck at home this is the perfect time for people to browse for a new home online. Loads of people are still engaging online and have more free time to look at what is on offer.

Nothing is stopping you from making or accepting an offer, however the process will be much slower and may face delays.

This is due to the government advising people to delay exchanging contracts until the lockdown has been lifted.

Even if you cannot move out straight away, you can still use this time to look online at what is on the market. As well as research areas that you may find appealing.

You can check out mortgage lenders websites to get an idea of how much you would need to borrow, giving you a rough price range for your new home.

How to get your home ready to sell

There are various things you can do to get your home ready; you can work on kerb appeal. This is how the front of your house looks, so your front door, porch, driveway, plants, and windows.

You can work on redecorating the interior of your home, adding in new ornaments, re-painting or adding some potted plants.

It is also the perfect time to declutter and donate or throw away what you no longer need.
