If you are looking to sell your property, making sure all rooms in your home are viewing-worthy is a must. You don’t want to put buyers off by having a spare room full of clutter.

Due to COVID-19, we have collectively been spending more time indoors than ever before. Due to the restrictions, most people have started to become a tad more inventive with how they use their space.

There are tonnes of ways that you can maximise your house space to create more functionality and that additional wow factor!

Here are the top 5:

  1. Home office.

To many people, this was born from necessity. But even if you don’t work from home, having a functional workspace can really change your idea of how you can be productive at home. Creating a home office can allow you to be far more productive, doing work from the living room often comes with far too many distractions. Having a dedicated place for work is a great way to ensure work gets done. It’s also one of the main things buyers look for now, due to more of us remote working and will be a great selling point

  1. Guest Bedroom.

We haven’t been expecting many guests recently, due to the restrictions. But it is healthy to be hopeful. Decluttering the spare room and turning it into something beautiful is not only a great way to spend time, but it is also a way to increase your house value. A well-thought-out space that is accommodating and homely can go a long way when potential buyers are viewing your home.

  1. Home Gym.

Similar to having a home office, having a dedicated space for a single activity allows you to draw a line between home and working out. Often it is difficult to work out from home with there being too many distractions, creating a space that is for a single purpose really allows you to focus. It is also much more attractive than having a spare room that works as a dumping ground. Again, a gym room could also be a great selling point to the right audience.

  1. Dressing Room.

Add a little more luxury to your house, and create a dressing room or a walk-in wardrobe. Not only does this alleviate space from your bedroom, but it can also make getting up and ready for the day feel like a treat. Some closet space, a mirror, and plenty of natural light can really make a room feel special. Having a dedicated room like this in your home will most definitely create that wow factor when you sell.

  1. Creative Studio.

Having a space dedicated to crafts for you and your family can be a great way to boost morale. Rather than spending the evenings watching television, spending your nights creating things is a wonderful way to spend your time. Whatever it’s: sewing, woodwork, painting, sculpting, making cosmetics, knitting, embroidery, scrapbooking, create a space dedicated to what you and your family are into. This kind of room would especially work well in a family home

So, declutter that spare room, and get creating something that you can feel proud of. Not only will you have a happier, healthier mindset, but it could be just the thing to impress potential buyers viewing your home.
