As we move into spring you might see more people looking to buy a property. Therefore, it’s important to show your home in a good light.

First impressions are everything!

Here are just a few ways to ensure your home makes a great one.

Spring Cleaning

A spring clean is the easiest and simplest way to get your home looking fresh. Buyers are put off by a property that looks grubby and unloved. You need to give old carpets a deep clean, thoroughly clean curtains, or anything that hangs on the wall that can gather dust. It’s always best to make sure every inch of your home has been thoroughly cleaned before putting it up for sale.

Freshen Your Kitchen and Bathroom

Kitchens and bathrooms really can make or break a sale. Everyone wants a fresh, clean, and up-to-date kitchen and bathroom. Give tired-looking bathrooms a makeover by hiding any pipework and fixing/cleaning any worn tiling. Tidy away any bathroom products e.g., body wash, cleaning products, etc. In the kitchen make sure to replace any worn work surfaces and doors. Make sure everything is in good working order and clear off the worktops – these simple things will transform your space.

Lights

You need the property to look bright and fresh. If the day is sunny, make sure as much natural light is coming through. If it’s a dull day or in the evening, use warm light bulbs to get that cosy and pleasant atmosphere.

Keep it Neutral

You need to keep personality to a minimum; people want to see themselves in your home. They need a neutral space to be able to do that. It’s easier on the eye and will feel more like a property viewing rather than intruding into someone’s home.

Flowers/Plant

Finally, plants are amazing at bringing the outside inside. It gives a plain room that subtle lift and pop of colour. Not only will it give a fresh fragrance to your home, but it’s also a great way to greet buyers.

We hope these tips will help to entice potential buyers and get the most out of your home sale.
