Simon has been an estate agent since the late 1990’s when he began his career working for the Surrey division of one of the largest estate agency groups in the UK.

He has subsequently worked for independent, partner run companies and believes that our combination of the best of both the corporate and the independent approaches enables us to offer our clients the very best service. He has experience across a range of markets from flats to country houses and everything in between and has a passion for providing the highest levels of service to clients that often means you’ll find him at his desk until late into the evening. Simon was born and educated locally and his daughter attended a local Ashford school.

Louis Devins

With over 15 years of experience in the property industry and nearly a decade with SJ Smith. I bring a deep understanding of the Ashford market and a genuine passion for helping people move. Having lived in Ashford for around 10 years on Junction Road, and with my children attending local schools, I know the area inside and out. In fact, I’ve likely visited a home on almost every road in town!

I take great pride in offering honest, impartial market advice and guiding clients through every stage of the property journey. I approach each sale with care and understanding, particularly when helping families through the emotional process of selling a loved one’s home. Being one of the longest serving members of the S J Smith team, Robert joined in 2012 and brought with him fifteen years of local industry experience including a period of managing branches for well-regarded local companies.

Joining S J Smith’s Ashford office was something of a return home for Robert who grew up in the town and attended a local school and it is this in-depth knowledge of living in the local area that is such an asset when it comes to helping clients sell their properties locally and also to guide buyers who may be new to the area.

Robert is the consummate professional and is renowned for his calm and patient approach to the sometimes stressful business of moving home.

He still lives locally with his partner and two sons and outside of work is a keen sportsman.

Outside of work, Elliott is a passionate musician who has been playing guitar since the age of 12. He is also a devoted Arsenal F.C. fan and enjoys playing football whenever he can.

Simon Gresswell

Sales Progression Manager

Sales progressor for S J Smith estate agents having had over 20 years in the industry. Simon joined our company in the summer of 2023

Bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his role as Sales Progressor. His extensive career over 20 years, has seen him take on various roles in the property industry and working for the some of the largest new home developers, covering sales progression for housing associations for shared ownership purchases and residential sales.

Simon’s broad experience allows him to navigate complex transactions with ensuring smooth processes for buyers and sellers alike.

Outside of work, Simon enjoys spending time with his family and friends, normally found socialising in Soho or Brighton with a drink or two (vodka and wine always welcomed!) He also has a passion for live music, regularly attending concerts and loves escaping to sunny destinations relaxing on the sun lounger or heading 200 feet up on rollercoasters.

I studied Marketing with Advertising and Digital Communications at London South Bank University, where I developed a strong foundation in digital strategy, branding, and content creation. Since then, I’ve focused on using social media to find creative ways to connect with people online and share what makes a brand truly unique.

Having grown up in the local area, I’m proud to now be part of a team that serves a community I know so well. My role is all about bringing the S J Smith brand to life across social media, from showcasing homes to highlighting the great people behind the scenes.

When I’m not working, I enjoy all things theme parks and relaxing at home with my cat, Archie.
