Director

Simon has been an estate agent since the late 1990’s when he began his career working for the Surrey division of one of the largest estate agency groups in the UK.

He has subsequently worked for independent, partner run companies and believes that our combination of the best of both the corporate and the independent approaches enables us to offer our clients the very best service. He has experience across a range of markets from flats to country houses and everything in between and has a passion for providing the highest levels of service to clients that often means you’ll find him at his desk until late into the evening. Simon was born and educated locally and his daughter attended a local Ashford school.

Chad Newbould

Ashford Sales Branch Manager

Chads journey to Ashford started over 20 years ago when he left his native New Zealand for the UK, and almost immediately upon arrival embarked on his career in estate agency.

Chad joined a local firm as a Trainee Negotiator and was so successful in his new career that within 18 months of starting, he was running his own branch, something that he continued to do for the next 15 years with his branch being consistently the top performing office in a network that by then covered Surrey and South West London. Chad joined S J Smith in early 2017 to manage the flagship Ashford branch and his client focused approach to estate agency, work ethic and leadership have helped drive the office to new levels of success.

Chad lives locally with his wife Leah (also in the property industry), their two sons as well as Tia and Kenny the bulldogs. Chad is a passionate sports supporter , and as a native New Zealander was taught the Haka (the All Blacks pre game ritual) at school, and is always happy to give a demonstration during a valuation appointment!

Hayden Clements

Robert Pearce

Ashford Senior Sales Negotiator

Being one of the longest serving members of the S J Smith team, Robert joined in 2012 and brought with him fifteen years of local industry experience including a period of managing branches for well-regarded local companies.

Joining S J Smith’s Ashford office was something of a return home for Robert who grew up in the town and attended a local school and it is this in-depth knowledge of living in the local area that is such an asset when it comes to helping clients sell their properties locally and also to guide buyers who may be new to the area.

Robert is the consummate professional and is renowned for his calm and patient approach to the sometimes stressful business of moving home.

He still lives locally with his partner and two sons and outside of work is a keen sportsman.

Tim Butt

Ashford Senior Sales Negotiator

After a spell in direct sales, Tim has been an agent for the past 7 years working for both corporate and independent agents throughout Surrey and West London which has given him valuable experience in dealing with a wide range of clients and property.

Tim also went to school, grew up and lives in the local area.

Outside of work Tim plays football locally, follows the NFL and is loves to go and see the latest movies in the cinema.

Simon Gresswell

Sales Progressor

Sales progressor for S J Smith estate agents having had over 20 years in the industry. Simon joined our company in the summer of 2023

Bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his role as Sales Progressor. His extensive career over 20 years, has seen him take on various roles in the property industry and working for the some of the largest new home developers, covering sales progression for housing associations for shared ownership purchases and residential sales.

Simon’s broad experience allows him to navigate complex transactions with ensuring smooth processes for buyers and sellers alike.

Outside of work, Simon enjoys spending time with his family and friends, normally found socialising in Soho or Brighton with a drink or two (vodka and wine always welcomed!) He also has a passion for live music, regularly attending concerts and loves escaping to sunny destinations relaxing on the sun lounger or heading 200 feet up on rollercoasters.

You will find Simon determined, proactive, approachable and honest

He is always on hand to ensure a smooth and stress-free progression towards exchange of contracts after the sale has been agreed.

Elliott Wilson

With nearly six years of experience in the competitive London property market, Elliott has a unique skill set and a wealth of knowledge which allows him to flourish and consistently deliver outstanding results for our clients. He combines his profound industry knowledge with a welcoming approach to ensure every client has a positive and rewarding experience.

Outside of work, Elliott is a passionate musician who has been playing guitar since the age of 12. He is also a devoted Arsenal F.C. fan and enjoys playing football whenever he can.

Having recently relocated to the area, Elliott is excited to apply his expertise to the local market, helping clients navigate through their property journey with both confidence and ease.
